Electrolux teamed up with Homes of Hope on Giving Tuesday to stock kitchens for the holiday season with two 18-wheeler truckloads of kitchenware valued at $300,000.

Homes of Hope will help distribute the goods to more than 400 homes, including 75 in Anderson, throughout the holiday season, according to a news release.

“We are deeply committed to giving back in the communities where our employees live and work, so it is meaningful knowing the impact these gifts will have throughout our region,” Nolan Pike, head of Electrolux North America, said in the release.

Countybank launches debit card donation swipe campaign

Countybank will lend a hand to a number of area nonprofits with every swipe of a Countybank debit card throughout the month.

The bank will make donations through this campaign up to $5,000, adding up to a slated $150,000 donated in the community as a whole during 2020, according to the news release.

Nonprofits include Anderson Interfaith Ministries, Daily Bread Ministries, Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity, Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation, Piedmont Technical College Foundation, Rebuild Upstate, Self-Regional Healthcare Foundation and United Way, among others.

Prisma Health hosts community blood drive

Prisma Health and the Blood Connection are partnering during December to mitigate a dip in blood donations during the holidays with a series of blood drives.

COVID-19 antibody testing is provided with all blood donations, as well as a $20 Visa card, according to a news release. Upcoming donation events will be held next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city of Easley Car Room and Younts Center PAC in Fountain Inn. Another blood drive will be held at the TR United Methodist Church in Travelers Rest on Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
