Unsurprisingly, the largest cities and towns in South Carolina have the best coverage for high-speed internet service, according to data from a business group that uses government data and private sources to cross reference market saturation across the U.S.
Broadband Now’s data analysis found that North Charleston had the most highspeed providers in the state with 20, giving the state’s third-largest city a 99.4% coverage rate. High-speed data provides a foundation for knowledge-economy companies, which expect employees to have access regardless of where they’re working. A lot of companies won’t even consider moving to an area without high-speed access.
