The ninth annual Mardi Gras Columbia festival and parade is set for March 2. Local nonprofit organization Krewe de Columbi-Ya-Ya will host the event at City Roots Farm.
The parade through the Rosewood neighborhood will kick off a 11 a.m. and be followed by a music festival with more than 20 bands from noon to 6 p.m. Beverages will be provided by Abita Brewing Company, and food trucks and vendors will supply a variety of cuisines. The festival will also include poetry performances from area artists.
Admission to the music festival is $5 for adults. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free.
Registration is not required to participate in the 1.85-mile parade. Lineup will begin at 10 a.m. at Jim Hamilton Boulevard.
