CRDA names treasurer and secretary for 2022 board

William A. Russell III, principal with the Charleston-based accounting and business advisory firm Jarrard Nowell & Russell LLC, will serve as treasurer and secretary and finance committee chair for the Charleston Regional Development Alliance 2022 Board of Directors. Russell has more than 25 years of experience in corporate financial management and captive insurance company management. He began his career as assistant treasurer for Charleston-based Cameron & Barkley Co. and has served as director of treasury and risk management for Hagemeyer North American Inc., according to a news release. Previously he served as assistant vice president with Marsh Management Services Inc., a division of Marsh & McLennan.
His experience includes the design and implementation of treasury systems, alternative financing structures and cash flow modeling. He also has worked in the captive management industry where he was responsible for managing more than 30 clients with assets in excess of $500 million.
This is Russell’s third year serving on the board of the CRDA. In his new post, he will continue to combine industry expertise with knowledge of corporate treasury systems, business valuation, and due diligence work, to help lead and grow the CRDA. “I am honored to be part of such a prestigious board of directors who are committed to our community to retain and attract world-class businesses and talent to Charleston,” Russell said in the release.
The CRDA is a professional economic development organization representing Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. With a growing network of business, academic and governmental partners, the CRDA directly assists companies with competitive location or expansion projects by connecting them with the right people, the appropriate resources, and the most meaningful and relevant information, the release said.
