Lockheed Martin is hosting a hiring event tomorrow in North Charleston, and decisions for new hires will be made the same day.

From 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at ECPI University, Lockheed Martin will conduct interviews and extend offers for hourly, F-16 production positions at its Greenville facility, of which new hires will be eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus and $5,000 in relocation costs.

Positions include structures mechanics, airframe and powerplant mechanics and avionics technicians.

Late last year, the company announced a plan to hire 300 mechanics, technicians, engineers and other positions at its Greenville site for F-16 Fighting Falcon production and sustainment by the end of 2022.

With more than 700 employees operating the Greenville site already, Lockheed Martin is now reaching out to talent in the Lowcountry to help further its production goals.

The event is the latest of many joint efforts with local governments and community institutions as the company continues to search for motivated and qualified candidates throughout South Carolina, with a particular focus on transitioning military service members and veterans, according to a statement from Lockheed Martin.

Attendees will also get a chance to learn about the latest, leading-edge digital engineering and autonomation technologies that Lockheed Martin has invested into its F-16 program.

Interested individuals can sign up online for the event and view available positions. Candidates must pre-register, bring multiple copies of their resumes, and dress in business casual attire.
