Women’s Business Center under new leadership in Greenville

The CommunityWorks Women’s Business Center has a new leader. Odeidra Williams has joined the nonprofit loan funder to lead a program that provides support to entrepreneurs in 15 South Carolina counties.

Williams brings years of experience in nonprofit management, business development and marketing to her role as Women’s Business Center program director, according to a CommunityWorks news release.

Before joining CommunityWorks, Williams provided business development services to small businesses, public officials and nonprofit organizations through her own business, WeOurs Consulting.  She also led the marketing and public relations efforts for South Carolina State University’s College of Agriculture, Family and Computer Sciences.

“I am excited to assist in supporting the mission and vision of CommunityWorks,” Williams said in the news release. “I am passionate about helping entrepreneurs start, grow and scale their businesses and look forward to working in the community to help impact economic development. CommunityWorks has a strong history of improving the conditions of underserved populations and I am eager to contribute my time and skills to such a worthy cause.”   

The CommunityWorks Women's Business Center has been serving business owners throughout South Carolina since 2020 and has served more than 800 clients, providing a range of services and trainings to support entrepreneurship and promote economic growth, the release stated. In line with CommunityWorks’ mission, the center focuses on serving underserved communities — offering comprehensive training and counseling to foster business skills.

“We are thrilled to welcome Odeidra to the CommunityWorks team,” CommunityWorks CEO Latorrie Geer said in the news release. “Her experience and passion for supporting small businesses and under-resourced communities make her an excellent fit for this role.” 

Williams will host a new weekly event series called “What’s Your Why Wednesdays” at the CommunityWorks Learning Center at JudHub. The event is a time to connect with like-minded business owners in the entrepreneurial space. Register for this opportunity on the website.
