The Richland County Office of Community Development will hold a free fair housing conference with an emphasis on the Latino community on Saturday.

The conference will take place at Centro Cristiano at 2632 Decker Blvd. from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The event will focus on fair and affordable housing, and information about homeownership basics will be presented in English and Spanish.

The winner of the 2018 Modjeska Monteith Simkins Award for Human Rights and Social Justice will also be announced. The annual award recognizes a Midlands individual or group for social or civil rights work.

Attendees can enjoy food trucks, live music and door prizes.
