Milliken purchases New Hampshire bandage manufacturer

Milliken & Company on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Andover Healthcare, a manufacturer of cohesive bandages and compression systems used in health care, animal health care and sports medicine. Joining Milliken Healthcare Products LLC, Milliken & Company’s dedicated health care business, the acquisition strategically aligns two brands in patient care, according to a news release.

Andover Healthcare is headquartered in Portsmouth, N.H. The cost of the investment was not disclosed.

Headquartered in Portsmouth, N.H., family-owned Andover Healthcare has been manufacturing healthcare products since 1976, the release said. The company has developed a number of health care products, including a latex-free bandages and cohesive bandages with controlled compression. The news release said the Andover Healthcare products will complement the health-related products already made by Milliken Healthcare, which include wound care material and brands.

Milliken, headquartered in Spartanburg, has been in business for more than 150 years.
