Mechanical design engineer Jay Desai realized laundry is a rather time-consuming task. It also can also consume a great deal of electricity too.

So, he married several retail concepts in one: a traditional chai tea and coffeehouse, a lounge with books and ipads, a farm-to-table café and a laundromat with what he calls the “most energy-efficient machines in the world.” 

The Green Laundry Lounge, now open to the public, is located on 10 Moorlyn Ln Suite G in Greer and also operates a wine, kombucha and beer bar with brands like Birds Fly South, according to the company site. 

Parsley & Mint reopens in downtown Greenville 

Parsley & Mint Mediterranean Eatery on 600 S. Main has refreshed its menu as a full-service dining venue. 

Since its reopening in February, the eatery offers shared plates, soups, sandwiches, bowls and salads for lunch, as well as tapas, small plates and entrees for dinner like strip sirloin with romesco sauce, Mediterranean citrus-spiced chicken wings and pork chops with grilled dates. 

The new menu also features Saturday and Sunday brunch dishes such as house-made falafel, Mediterranean pimento cheese, sumac chicken salad and Mediterranean shrimp and polenta. 

Craft cocktails include a pomegranate old fashioned and basil-cucumber mojito. 

“We are excited to relaunch our downtown location as a new destination for fresh, flavor-forward Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and unique craft cocktails,” Paul Ryll, owner and executive chef of Parsley & Mint Downtown, said in a release. “We have reinvented the same bold Mediterranean ingredients and our own house made spice blends to create a menu that is elevated, unique and packed with flavor. We hope to create an atmosphere where friends can gather over a leisurely bottomless brunch, weekday lunch, after-work cocktails or dinner, each time enjoying a distinct and memorable experience.”
