The wait is finally over.

The Grand Bohemian, the massive lodge-style hotel on the banks of the Reedy River in downtown Greenville, officially opened today.

Greenville’s 187-room Grand Bohemian is the line’s second lodge following its Beaver Creek Lodge in Colorado and in theme, will spotlight the Richard Kesslers family's gallery of Native American art alongside the lodge’s hand-designed glass antler chandeliers and glistening geode-like installations.

While the doors swung open today, a grand opening ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 15.

At 44 East Camperdown Way, the Grand Bohemian’s home is next to the Reedy River, providing an ideal spot to view downtown Greenville’s most recognizable feature.

From the Liberty Suite, the river’s namesake bridge can be seen from a close-up, almost aerial view, while the west side of the hotel abuts a host of old oaks and other trees lining the banks of the Reedy River near the ruins of Vardry Mill. Thirty suites will have balconies.

What would a landmark hotel be without food and drinks? Here are some of the Grand Bohemian’s amenities, according to a newsletter from the company:

Between the Trees

Providing scenic views from the Grand Bohemian Lodge, the hotel’s signature restaurant, Between the Trees, is named for its location overlooking Greenville's waterfalls at Falls Park.

Menu highlights include local agriculture and fish, beef and game, regionally sourced cheeses, and desserts prepared by an in-house pastry chef. Guests can dine around one of the four fireplaces, in a 1,000-bottle wine room, or the private dining room featuring an exterior glass wall that opens to take in the views.

Spirit & Bower

Located at the boutique lodge, Sprit & Bower is named for its unique location and is defined by its surroundings. The premier bar is both day and night with indoor/outdoor seating and scenic views.

Overlooking the Liberty Bridge and falls, the outdoor verandah and terrace offer a variety of seating, two fireplaces, and a stone firepit. Inside features original works of art and a display of Spirit & Bower’s curated bourbon and whiskey collection. An elevated stone bar opens up to the exterior.

Between the Trees is open today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Spirit & Bower will be open from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.
