Alabama-based law firm Burr & Forman LLP has completed its acquisition of Carolinas-based McNair Law Firm P.A., giving the Birmingham firm 19 offices in eight states.
The acquisition was announced last November.
McNair’s offices in Columbia, Greenville, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Bluffton and Charlotte will operate as Burr Forman McNair for a two-year period, according to a news release.
“This acquisition serves to deepen the bench and accelerate growth opportunities for both our clients and our team in the Carolinas and throughout the Southeast,” said David Tigges, former CEO of McNair who is now a member of Burr & Forman’s executive committee as Carolinas managing partner. “Specifically, we see an immediate benefit from our combined strengths in terms of both industries and practice areas.”
Burr & Forman handles cases ranging from commercial litigation and class actions to corporate transactions including bankruptcy and restructurings, serving industries including manufacturing, banking, real estate, hospitality and health care. McNair’s clients include the manufacturing, banking, telecommunications, energy, health care and real estate industries, as well as government organizations and individuals.
“We are excited to officially welcome our new team members at McNair,” Burr & Forman CEO Ed Christian said. “Our presence in the Carolinas solidifies Burr & Forman’s ability to provide representation in markets where our clients regularly conduct business.”
