Baker & Brewer is launching a restaurant collaboration series called O.P.P.B., or Other People’s Pizza and Brew.

Its first partnership is with Swig & Swine and includes a new brew called The Pig Easy. This light beer brewed with smoked malt will be released at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at Baker & Brewer in downtown Charleston and at all three Swig & Swine locations, in Mount Pleasant, West Ashley and Summerville.

Swig & Swine pitmaster and owner Anthony DiBernardo will be at Baker & Brewer serving specials such as his version of the Pork Trifecta pizza, called Big Bad Wolf, plus Parmigiano-Reggiano and three styles of pork.

Maple Street Biscuit Co. has extended its business hours to now serve guests from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.

Now open seven days a week, the chain, which has a Lowcountry location on James Island, has hired additional staff and implemented a new store leadership model.

The Charleston Parks Conservancy is hosting a series of events in parks throughout the year, including Sunday Brunch at Hampton Park.

The Sunday Brunch in Hampton Park series will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rose Pavilion at 30 Mary Murray Drive in Charleston. Admission is $10, or $15 at the door. Kids younger than 12 are free. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase.

  • On March 22, Sideshow Americans will perform and Gorditas Locas, Pita Stroller and Street Bird will be selling food.
  • On April 26, Guilt Ridden Troubadour will perform and Lola’s Lumpia, Area 51 and Bits-N-Bytes will sell food.
  • For the May 17 event, Kickin’ Chicken, Johnny Poppers and Holy Rolly Charleston will have food for purchase.
  • On Sept. 20, pop-punk band City Lights will perform and food trucks will be Brunch Holiday, Bits-N-Bytes and Braised in the South.
  • On Oct. 25, Spunky Spuds, Semilla and Roti Rolls will be selling food.
  • On Nov. 15, Semilla will have food available for purchase.

All proceeds support the Charleston Parks Conservancy’s work renovating and beautifying public parks and green spaces around Charleston.
