An executive with the South Carolina Association of Technical College Commissioners has received national recognition.

The South Carolina Association of Technical College Commissioners has congratulated James Bowden, SCATCC Secretary, for his recognition as an inductee into the esteemed National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame.

Bowden’s induction with the 2023 Lifetime Achievement honor stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication to education, his community, and the state of South Carolina, a news release stated.

Bowden's tireless efforts, exceptional leadershi, and steadfast commitment to the advancement of technical education have not only enriched our association but have also left an indelible mark on the entire state of South Carolina, the release stated.

The 2023 Lifetime Achievement honor bestowed upon Bowden by the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation reflects his passion, his pursuit of excellence, and his impact on the lives he has touched, the release stated. Bowden's journey is an inspiring testament to the power of education, mentorship and community involvement, the release stated.

(Photo/Provided)“James Bowden's induction into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame is a momentous occasion that fills us with immense pride,” said Keyatta Priester, chair of SCATCC, in the release. “His dedication to education, his selfless contributions to the State of SC, and his embodiment of the values we hold dear make him an exemplary leader. We are privileged to have him as a board member of SCATCC.”

The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation’s recognition of Bowden's achievements underscores the impact that individuals from HBCUs can make on a global scale, the release stated. As he takes his place among other distinguished honorees, Bowden's journey will undoubtedly continue to inspire others to reach new heights and make a positive difference in their communities.

The induction ceremony, set to take place in Atlanta during the Hall of Fame Foundation Weekend Sept. 29-Oct. 1, will be a celebration of Bowden's accomplishments and the mark he has left on technical education and beyond, the release stated.
