Geographic area or specific population served: OneWorld Health operates health care facilities in East Africa and Central America. Currently we have four facilities in Uganda, eight facilities in Nicaragua, and one on the way in Honduras.
Greatest need: OneWorld Health remains 100% committed to its mission of providing quality, affordable health care to communities in need. Over the last several months, this has required pivoting our model to ensure that all patients have access to health care, either in person or via telehealth. Additionally, we have worked with communities and local governments to ensure that clear and accurate information is readily available regarding prevention measures, symptoms and treatment of COVID-19.
The economic impact of the pandemic on the developing world is severe and current indicators are projecting that COVID-19 could drive extreme poverty back to over 1 billion people globally. We are committed to every patient, regardless of their capacity to pay. We are able to adjust prices for patients who need discounted or free medical services. To do that, we need partnerships with individuals, corporations, churches and academic institutions.
