Truist Financial Corp. has named Matt Roth as the middle market banking leader for South Carolina.

Roth most recently served as building products industry consultant within Commercial Community Banking at Truist, according to a news release.

“It is an absolute honor to step into this new role as Middle Market Banking Leader for South Carolina and to return to serving a community that means so much to me. My family and I are so excited to make our return to Charleston, and I’m looking forward to reaching my 20-year milestone in the South Carolina region,” said Roth in the release.

Roth has 19 years of banking experience with Truist, the release stated. In this new role, he will be responsible for the overall performance for Middle Market Banking in the South Carolina region, including high-quality client service, profitability and growth, and risk management. Prior to serving as Building Products Industry Consultant in Washington, D.C., Roth supported the South Carolina region for 12 years, gaining experience in commercial real estate and middle market banking.

“We’re confident that Matt will bring fresh perspectives and strong leadership to the overall success of the South Carolina team,” said Alex Brame, South Carolina regional president for Truist, in the release. “We look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish in this new role and know he will continue to align his new team with Truist’s purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities.”

Passionate about the community he serves, Roth is an active member of Columbia Baptist Church, Leadership Greater Washington and he enjoys coaching little league sports, the release stated.

Roth earned his BSBA in Banking and Finance from Appalachian State University and Graduate Degree in Banking from ABA Stonier Graduate School at University of Pennsylvania.
