An art show highlighting South Carolina’s natural beauty is coming to the S.C. State Library on March 20.
A commemorative essay and art series created by artist John Davis features four of the state’s most diverse natural areas and spotlights the S.C. Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Management Area and Heritage Trust programs. Davis created the series, featuring public lands managed and protected by the resource department, for the May-June edition of South Carolina Wildlife magazine.
“Each is a jewel in the crown of an incredibly successful program to preserve and protect South Carolina’s natural wealth for present and future generations,” Davis said in a news release.
Davis spent 22 years as editor of South Carolina Wildlife magazine and studied at the University of South Carolina’s Sloan College of Art.
To reserve a spot at the March 20 presentation, which begins at 10 a.m. at the S.C. State Library's learning lab, contact Cindy Thompson at [email protected] or 803-734-3859. Davis’ collection will be on display until noon at the library, located at 1500 Senate St.
