Midlands Gives registration open until Tuesday

Midlands nonprofits have until Tuesday to register for Midlands Gives, the annual online philanthropic event hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation.

Returning participants can opt in at www.MidlandsGives.org for the 2019 event, to be held Tuesday, May 7. Organizations that are new to Midlands Gives must complete a brief enrollment and training process.

Donations to hundreds of eligible nonprofits in an 11-county area will be accepted from 6 a.m. until midnight on May 7. Previous Midlands Gives events ran for 24 hours.

“Throughout the five years during which our organization has powered Midlands Gives, we have been gathering feedback from participating nonprofits and supporters alike,” JoAnn Turnquist, president and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation, said in a news release. “We have been listening, and we are pleased to share that we are shifting to a convenient 18-hour schedule for the Midlands Gives 2019 giving day.”

The 2019 event will be headquartered at the South Carolina State Museum.

Since its 2014 inception, Midlands Gives has raised more than $7.25 million for area nonprofits, including a record $1.75 million for 372 organizations in 2018.  The event is one of hundreds of independently organized giving days nationwide.
