College Movers is offering three $1,000 scholarships to students who have worked during their academic careers. Students can apply online through Dec. 15.


New Leaf Builders will donate all proceeds from its Christmas Dream House program to Sea Island Habitat for Humanity.

The program includes a $100 matted rendering of a dream home design. Those who choose to build a New Leaf house on their lot also will receive a $2,500 design upgrade incentive.


Tickets to the 38th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival are now available for purchase online. This charity fundraiser event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 31 at Boone Hall Plantation.

The event will include live music, wine, domestic and imported beers, a children’s area and a food court.

General admission is $17.50, and VIP tickets are $150. Children 10 and under are free with a paying adult. General parking is free. The festival will be cashless, and masks are required.


Lowcountry Land Trust participated in Giving Tuesday, raising money to further its work preserving vital Lowcountry lands and waterways. Dottie’s Pharmacy pledged to match Giving Tuesday donations up to $10,000.


Charleston Friends of the Library will host a holiday book sale presented by Crews Subaru of Charleston from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 11 and 12 at the Wando Mount Pleasant Library. Funds raised will support library services, equipment, training, materials and public programming.

The first hour will be dedicated to senior shopping. An event for members only will also be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10. All attendees will be required to wear a mask.

Volunteers interested in serving as cashiers and book sorters can sign up online.
