Spartina 449 and Salt Marsh Animal Hospital have already opened in the development at the crossroads of Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns islands. Café Eugenia, The Beaufort Bonnet Co., Luminary and Johnny Was are coming soon.

“Resort retail is having a moment,” said Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail. “Unique, upscale brands are finding that resort retail enclaves, like Freshfields Village, have turned into year-round shopping experiences. With evolving remote work models, these properties are no longer simply seasonal destinations. Centers like this are attractive for expanding retailers, with a very targeted demographic, inviting outdoor environments and strong year-round sales.”

Freshfield Village has more than 30 shops and 11 restaurants, as well as coffee shops, a pharmacy, a wine store and more.
