Delta Air Lines is adding two nonstop daily flights from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport to LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City. The flights will begin on July 9.

Delta currently offers one daily nonstop flight from GSP to LGA. The new flights will depart from GSP to LGA Sunday through Friday at 6:40 a.m., 12:40 p.m. and 5:12 p.m. Saturday service also will be available from GSP at 7:15 a.m., according to a news release.

“This is an exciting new service for those needing to travel into the New York area,” said David Edwards, GSP’s president and CEO, in the release. “New York is our nation’s most popular tourist destination and it’s one of the most popular places to visit in the world. In fact, New York City ranks as the second most popular domestic destination for passengers departing GSP. We are pleased to partner with Delta to make this much-desired trip more convenient.”

The most popular domestic destination for passengers departing GSP is Washington, D.C., according to GSP spokesman Dudley Brown.

The planes used for Delta’s flights from GSP to LGA are CRJ900s, which have a seating capacity of 76. The flights offer first-class seating options and economy class rows do not have middle seats, the release said.

In addition to New York, Delta offers daily flights from GSP to Atlanta and Detroit.
