Panel discussion to focus on eviction concerns

Richland Library will play host to a panel discussion on eviction concerns in America on Wednesday.

The discussion, “American Eviction: Why A Nation of Renters Can’t Make Rent,” is presented in partnership with Central Carolina Community Foundation and WNYC Studios and will be held from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Richland Library main branch at 1431 Assembly St.

The free event will feature an overview from Pulitzer Prize-winning author and sociologist Matthew Desmond and On the Media radio host Brooke Gladstone.

A panel discussion will include S.C. Rep. Marvin Pendarvis and Sue Berkowitz, director of the S.C. Appleseed Legal Justice Center. The panelists will discuss challenges and solutions specific to Columbia.
