Staff Report //July 15, 2020//
A sidewalk project northeast of downtown Columbia which aims to improve pedestrian safety is about 25% complete, according to Richland County.
The project is improving one side of Harrison Road from Two Notch Road to Forest Drive. Crews contracted through the county are also installing drainage, a curb and gutter, and a retaining wall for part of the 1.2-mile stretch of road. The crews recently completed installation of a portion of the sidewalk and drainage pipes and poured footings for the retaining wall.
Work on the project began in April and is expected to be completed by early 2021.
